Members of the Athens-Clarke County community are invited to attend the first of three budget hearings scheduled to review the Fiscal Year 25 budget. Board of Education members gave tentative approval of the $240 million spending plan at their May 9 meeting. That amount is about $25 million dollars more than the current budget. We spoke with district 5 board member Tim Denson earlier about the proposed budget.
Wile the plan could see expenditures exceed revenue, Denson says that’s not necessarily a cause for concern.
The meeting is at 6 pm Monday, June 3, at the district’s administrative offices building located at 595 Prince Avenue. It will also be available online.
