Second Arrest Made in Athens Shooting

A second person has been arrested for the May 27 murder of an Athens man. Athens-Clarke County Police and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Janiya Moore, of Athens, in connection with the shooting death of 20-year-old Cameron Manago. She is charged with felony murder and tampering with evidence.

Officers responded to the scene of a shooting at Rolling Ridge Apartments and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Manago was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

16-year-old Zyquavious Thomas was arrested at the time. He is being tried as an adult and is charged with felony murder, attempted armed robbery, and aggravated assault.
