Today marks the 23rd anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, UGA's Greg Trevor was in his office on the 68th floor of One World Trade Center. He was able to escape the building minutes before it collapsed. For the twentieth anniversary of 9/11 three years ago, Trevor, Associate Vice President for Marketing & Communications at the University of Georgia, recorded this essay remembering that day and its aftermath.

His essay first appeared in James Magazine – Insider Advantage Georgia and was broadcast on WUGA in 2021 and again in 2022.

Last week, as part of National Preparedness Month, Greg sat down with Adam Fouche, UGA’s Executive Director for Emergency Preparedness to reflect on his experiences and discuss the steps members of the university community can take to protect themselves in an emergency.
