On Tuesday, the Athens-Clarke County Mayor and Commission met for a work session, where they discussed something that county residents use every day: water. The mayor and commission heard about a $250 million proposal to use an eastside quarry for water storage in the coming years. WUGA’s Alexia Ridley sat down with Commissioner Melissa Link of the 2nd District earlier this week to discuss growing demand for this resource in the county, as well as potential solutions.

Alexia Ridley joined WUGA as Television and Radio News Anchor and Reporter in 2013. When WUGA TV concluded operations, she became the primary Reporter for WUGA Radio. Alexia came to Athens from Macon where she served as the News Director and show host for WGXA TV. She's a career journalist and Savannah native hailing from the University of Michigan. However, Alexia considers herself an honorary UGA DAWG!
