The father of the teenager accused of killing four people at Apalachee High School in September has filed a not guilty plea after waiving his presence at his arraignment Thursday. Colin Gray faces a 29-count indictment that includes numerous charges ranging from second-degree murder to reckless conduct. Investigators have reported that Gray purchased the AR-15 style rifle as a Christmas gift for his son.

In October, Colt Gray also waived his presence at arraignment and his lawyer filed a motion entering a not guilty plea and demanding a jury trial, according to the case file with Barrow County Clerk of Court. The teenager is accused of sneaking the rifle into Apalachee High on the morning of Sept. 4. Gray, who was a ninth-grade student at the school, is accused of killing two students and two teachers. Eight other students were injured along with a teacher.
