Bruce Lonnee named Director of ACC’s Planning Department

Bruce Lonnee has been named the new Director of Athens-Clarke County’s Planning Department by the county’s Acting City Manager Niki Jones.

Athens-Clarke County’s Planning Department manages the development of the county. It now has a new Director.

Bruce Lonnee has been named the new Director of Athens-Clarke County’s Planning Department by the county’s Acting City Manager Niki Jones.

Lonnee has served as the interim director of the department since June. He was named Director Monday, and assumed the role immediately.

Lonnee has worked for the department since 1998 and holds a Master of Urban Planning degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Master of Historic Preservation degree from the University of Georgia.

ACC’s Planning Department oversees changes to land use, transportation, historic preservation, and more.
