Athens-Clarke County Police are seeking an armed robbery suspect. Police say on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at approximately 11:13 am, officers responded to a call at a drug store in the 700 block of Oglethorpe Avenue. Once they arrived, they spoke with store staff who said an unknown person entered the business. They then approached a checkout counter, produced a handgun, and demanded cash from the register. The person, who is described as having an average height and build, left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The ACCPD released an image of the person, with a concealed face, wearing a flannel shirt and a hoodie.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the subject’s arrest.
