Two arrests have been made in connection to the fatal shooting of Nigel Turner which occurred in April of last year.
Jutaraz Morton, a 24-year old from Winder and Timia Cobbs, a 25-year-old from Athens were both taken into custody Wednesday after warrants were issued for their arrest. Charges that Morton faces include Malice Murder, Felony Murder, 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, and 3 counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Certain Felonies. Cobbs is being charged with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, and 2 counts of Aggravated Assault.
The Investigation began back in April, when the Athens Clarke-County Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on the 100 block of Huntington Road. Turner, a 25-year old from Athens, was found deceased on the on the scene. A second victim was transported to a local hospital with non life-threating injuries.
