A juvenile has been arrested in Jackson County over a threat made at East Jackson Middle School. The juvenile, whose age is not mentioned in a release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, is charged with a felony count of terroristic threats and acts.

Sheriff Kevin McCook stated, "We are very thankful for our school resource officers and investigators. Their swift and diligent work helped bring about a safe and successful resolution to the matter. I also want to thank school Superintendent Dr. Phillip Brown and his staff for their assistance. We take these types of threats seriously and will act accordingly."

The suspect's parents have been cooperative with law enforcement. The investigation is ongoing, however, it appears to be isolated to the one individual. It's unknown whether the student attended the school.
