The Marigold Collective fights food insecurity in Winterville, Georgia. To benefit its several ongoing projects that connect people to fresh food, it will hold the Marigold Mingle next Saturday at 6 pm at the Marigold Auditorium for Arts and Culture.

Dr. Laura Ney is the UGA Extension Agent for Athens-Clarke County and is the Marigold Collective’s Board Chair. Andrea Demarcus is a singer and bass player for the band Cicada Rhythm, which will headline the event. They sat down with WUGA’s Emma Auer to discuss what attendees can expect. Here’s that conversation.

Emma Auer is an award-winning reporter who joined WUGA as a full-time producer in 2024. She is also a graduate student in UGA's Romance Languages Department, studying French and Spanish. She covers the breadth of Northeast Georgia stories, from Athens City Hall to Winterville farmers' markets. Emma's work has also been heard on Georgia Public Broadcasting.
