Four Oconee County schools named National Blue-Ribbon Lighthouse Schools of Excellence

Four elementary schools in Oconee County have been named National Blue-Ribbon Lighthouse Schools of Excellence.

Colham Ferry, Dove Creek, High Shoals, and Malcom Bridge elementary schools were each selected for recognition across all nine categories of the Blueprint of Excellence.

“This honor reflects the dedication, vision, and commitment to excellence shared by students, educators, and community,” said Superintendent Jason Branch. “Having four schools selected in one year showcases the standards that each school maintains on a consistent basis.”

The schools excelled in areas such as Student Focus and Support, Professional Community, and Technology Integration.

Since the program began in 2003, 400 schools have received this distinction—nine of them in Oconee County.
