The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that the state’s unemployment rate remained steady in March with the 3.6 percent rate unchanged from February.
According to Labor Commissioner Barbara Rivera Holmes, there are three job openings for every Georgian. Jobs were up 6,900 over the month and up 23,100 over the year to more than four million, nine hundred thousand (4,979,500).
The sectors with the most over-the-month growth included health care and social assistance, information, and administrative and support services.
Georgia’s unemployment rate was six-tenths lower than the national unemployment rate.
