The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating after a Clarke County student was attacked with a knife Wednesday morning. According to a message from Superintendent Robbie Hooker, a CCSD high school student was approached by an individual at a bus stop near the Parkview neighborhood who attacked him with a knife. The accused attacker, who has been identified as a 17-year-old from Athens, fled on foot and was captured by police shortly after the incident. The 16-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The ACCPD reports the 17-year-old suspect has been detained and is facing aggravated assault charges. The individuals did know one another.

Shortly before 7:30 this morning, a CCSD high school student was approached by an individual at a bus stop near the Parkview neighborhood who proceeded to attack him with a knife. The attacker fled on foot and was apprehended shortly thereafter by ACC Police. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
