A University of Georgia chemistry professor has been elected to the National Academy of Arts and Sciences, an organization founded over 200 years ago.
Dr. Gregory Robinson is a University of Georgia Foundation Distinguished Professor of Chemistry. He was elected this year to the National Academy of Arts and Sciences, joining members such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Albert Einstein.
Robinson joined the UGA faculty in 1995. His research includes developing alternatives to expensive and toxic rare metals. Robinson joins a group of 250 members inducted in 2025. His peers include filmmaker Ava DuVernay and news anchor Anderson Cooper.
He is also the 13th UGA faculty member to join the ranks of the National Academy of Arts and Sciences.
