Will Keyes sworn in as U.S. Attorney for Middle District of Georgia

A University of Georgia graduate was sworn in Tuesday as the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia. William R. “Will” Keyes took the office after he was appointed by U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi four days earlier.

The Middle District covers 70 counties from Athens to Albany and Valdosta. The U.S. Attorney prosecutes federal offenses in the district.

Keyes received bachelor degrees in economics and statistics, a master’s degree in economics and his law degree, all from UGA. He is an active member of the alumni board for the Terry Business School. Keyes was raised in Albany and lives in Macon.

Jeff has delivered morning news at WUGA Radio for more than a decade. He was among a team at CNN that won a George Foster Peabody Award in 1991 for an educational product based on the fall of the Soviet Union. He also won an Edward R. Murrow Award from Radio Television Digital News Association in 2007 for producing a series for WSB Radio on financial scams. Jeff is a graduate of the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University (MBA) and holds a BS in Business Administration from Campbell University, both in North Carolina.
