In Buenos Aires, UGA students prepare for bilingual careers

For many college students, studying abroad is a high point in their education, when they get to immerse themselves in a new culture.

University of Georgia students studying in Buenos Aires, Argentina this summer got the chance to do this—not simply by taking classes, but by working as interns.

I accompanied them on this trip, and bring you a story about students—used to the streets of Athens—exploring this South American society.

Emma Auer is an award-winning reporter who joined WUGA as a full-time producer in 2024. She is also a graduate student in UGA's Romance Languages Department, studying French and Spanish. She covers the breadth of Northeast Georgia stories, from Athens City Hall to Winterville farmers' markets. Emma's work has also been heard on Georgia Public Broadcasting.
