U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene says she will not run for governor of Georgia in 2026. In a lengthy social media post, Greene says she intends to stay in Congress and promote President Trump’s agenda.

The Rome Republican also passed on a Senate bid earlier this year at the urging of Trump and other Republicans who worried she would be too polarizing in a general election matchup against Democratic U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff.

In the governor’s race, former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and State Senator Jason Esteves will compete for the Democratic nomination. For Republicans, it’s Attorney General Chris Carr and Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones.
