Reward Being Offered Regarding the Homicide of Daniel Macias

A reward is being offered in connection with the death of an Athens man. According to a release from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, 28-year-old Daniel Macias was shot and killed on Saturday, August 13. Macias was at the intersection of Hancock Avenue and Jackson Street shortly after 2:30 in the morning, when he encountered an individual and was shot.

Detectives ask that anyone who may know the identity or whereabouts of the person of interest to contact police. Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward in this case for information leading to an arrest. The Macias family is offering up to an additional $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the crime.
