The Athens Clarke County Unified Government is calling for all local Athens-area artists to submit art proposals for a public art mural.
The ACC Government is looking for Athens-area artists to submit public art proposals for consideration for a mural design for the exterior of Lay Park Community Center facing Hoyt St.
The goal for this public art piece is to enhance the visual appeal of the building exterior as well as to contribute to the community identity and pride. The stakeholder group identified themes to inspire the artwork such as family, community, growth, happiness and more.
To be eligible applicants must be 18 years of age or older and they must not be currently employed by Athens-Clarke County. This includes part-time, contract labor and seasonal/temporary employment. All applicants must apply on the ACC government website. The deadline to apply is Friday, September 19 at 5p.m.
