Seventeen people are being charged for allegedly running a drug trafficking ring out of Athens and Atlanta.

The FBI and several other state and local law enforcement agencies made 13 arrests Tuesday as a part of this ongoing investigation.

Over $900,000 worth of drugs and cash were seized, including several kilograms of cocaine and fentanyl. A grenade launcher along with more than two dozen firearms were also discovered.

According to the office of the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, the defendants are accused of conspiring to distribute more than 400 grams of fentanyl and several kilograms of cocaine in the Athens region.
