Wild Rumpus Parade and Spectacle gets underway on Saturday, October 25

Wild Rumpus 2025 is inviting the community to join the festivities. Described as Athens’ “Halloween Mardi Gras,” the parade calls on participants to wear a costume and travel through downtown streets. The spectacle includes local bands playing along the parade route, a festival zone with additional performers, fire spinners and more. Everyone in costume is invited to march for free.

Rumpus raises money for a nonprofit group each year. It’s taking place on Saturday, October 25th. It starts at 5 pm at West Hancock Avenue at Pulaski Street.

This is the 17th year that the Wild Rumpus has taken place in Athens. This year’s theme is Supernova.

The event starts at 5 pm at the Rumpus Rally with bands on stage at Creature Comforts Brewery. At 8 pm, the parade begins, culminating in a DJ dance part in the street until 11 pm. That’s followed by the Midnight Howl, the official after party at Paloma Park.

The Wild Rumpus Parade and Spectacle was created Athens artist and musician Timi Conley, who serves as the event’s Master of Ceremonies. Conley kicks of the parade by blowing a conch shell.
