The assailant of a University of Georgia student who was arrested at a downtown Athens bar last week has been released from jail. Crowd-sourced funding pages started in the two parties’ names have popped up to raise money.

The 33-year-old Athens man, Kenneth Leland Morgan, was booked into jail early Friday morning and posted over $15,000 in bond over the weekend. He was charged with misdemeanor simple battery and felony aggravated assault.

Video from Thursday night shows Morgan dressed in a Nazi uniform violently attacking a woman who was later identified as University of Georgia student Grace Lang. She alleges she had approached the man to remove Nazi symbolism from his costume.

The University of Georgia says that Morgan is not affiliated with the institution.

Crowd-sourced funding pages started in the parties’ names have each raised tens of thousands of dollars.
