For thirteen years, the annual Turkeypalooza event has helped bring Thanksgiving meals to those experiencing food insecurity in Athens. It is organized by the Athens Community Council on Aging, with help from the University of Georgia's Campus Kitchen and Epting Events.

Preparation for the event takes place in the weeks before Thanksgiving, involving nearly 300 volunteers. From collecting canned goods, to cooking turkeys, to delivering meals, students, faculty, and staff are involved at every step in the process.

This past weekend, volunteers with Campus Kitchen prepared over 100 Thanksgiving meals and over 200 grocery bags.
