Senator Warnock on Senate rejecting to continue ACA subsidies

File - U. S. Senator Raphael Warnock

U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock spoke out on Thursday after the Senate rejecting keeping subsidies for ACA premiums.

The U.S. Senate voted against continuing subsidies for Affordable Care Act premiums. Costs are expected to increase significantly when the One Bill Beautiful Bill Act comes into effect on January 1, 2026. Warnock lashed out at GOP Senators.

“Who are they working for?” said Senator Reverend Warnock. “First, you kick 15 million Americans off of their health care in order to give billionaires a tax cut. And then, after doing that, you double the premiums on some 22 million additional Americans. For some people, you triple the premiums, quadruple the premiums.”

A republican alternative to the measure also failed.
