Hundreds of people turned out for Sunday’s “ICE Out for Good” protest on College Square in downtown Athens. The local gathering was organized by IndivisibleGA 10, and was part of a series nationwide rallies held over the weekend in response to tactics by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency, or ICE.
One of those attending was Caleb Lux, President of the Young Democrats of the University of Georgia. He addressed the crowd.
“But one thing you should about our generation and our student body, is that we have a very short temper for injustice,” Lux said.
The 90-minute protest was peaceful.
