The University of Georgia hosted the 26th annual Mary Frances Early Lecture on Monday. This year marks the 64th anniversary of her graduation as the first Black student to graduate from UGA. This year’s speaker was research biomedical engineer and UGA grad Dr. Adrienne Madison. Her address was entitled “A Legacy in Bloom: Rooted, Resilient, and Reaching.”
“I’m going to do my part so that the future grad students as well as the current one can see that great things are possible and all of it is possible through Miss Early’s legacy,”
Dr. Madison said.Madison was the first doctoral graduate from UGA Engineering.
