Local sheriff’s office to host 6-week community program

The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office has opened registration for their Academy for Community Engagement.

This program will give community members hands-on experience of the daily operations of the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office.

The six-week course will consist of a Citizens’ Firearms Class and a demonstration of the Virtual Reality Simulator.

From April 8 to May 13 on Wednesdays, those enrolled will meet at the Training Center on County Farm Rd. from 6pm to 8pm.

Registration closes April 1 at 5 pm.
