Georgia’s small businesses and logistics industry have propelled the state to become a record breaking export hub.
Governor Brian Kemp and the Georgia Department of Economic Development announced that Georgia has become a top 10 exporting state again since falling off the list in 2020.
Since the pandemic, the state of Georgia has built its logistics network so that now exports outperform the national average by 5.6%. The state is among the top ten in the nation for both dollar value of total trade and dollar value of exports. According to Kemp, “Georgia has broken export records for five consecutive years” thanks to the state’s thousands of small businesses.
Canada, Mexico, and Germany are some of the nations that receive most of the state’s exports. These goods mainly consist of civilian aircraft and ancillary parts, computers, and hardware.
With Hartsfield-Jackson airport, the busiest airport in the world, and the Port of Savannah, the third busiest container gateway in the U.S., Georgia surpassed $60 billion in exports during 2025.
