How an animated film changed this UGA student’s outlook on life

Harshaa Rajarajan is a participant in TEDxUGA this year.

Every year, TEDxUGA puts University of Georgia faculty and students, as well as Athens residents, on the stage to exchange ideas. This April, Harshaa Rajarajan will take the stage.

Rajarajan is a UGA sophomore studying electrical engineering. His deep interest in philosophy and neuroscience leads him to look for inspiration in unexpected places. In his TED talk, Rajarajan will discuss how the Pixar film Wall-e teaches viewers to go from surviving to thriving.

He sat down with WUGA’s Emma Auer to preview his presentation.

Emma Auer is an award-winning reporter who joined WUGA as a full-time producer in 2024. She is also a graduate student in UGA's Romance Languages Department, studying French and Spanish. She covers the breadth of Northeast Georgia stories, from Athens City Hall to Winterville farmers' markets. Emma's work has also been heard on Georgia Public Broadcasting.
