University of Georgia women's basketball has named Ayla Guzzardo as its fourth full-time head coach, the program announced Sunday.
The move comes one day after Georgia parted ways with former coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson following four seasons.
Guzzardo arrives after leading McNeese State women's basketball to a record-setting 29-6 season and the program’s third conference title. She engineered one of the top turnarounds in NCAA Division I, improving the team from 10-21 the previous year.
Before McNeese, Guzzardo spent three seasons with Southeastern Louisiana women's basketball, guiding the team to the 2023 NCAA tournament and two conference titles.
She began her coaching career at University of Akron women's basketball and later coached at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Louisiana.
Georgia finished 22-10 this season, falling in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
