A heat advisory was issued June 29th for most of Georgia, and the hot conditions are set to continue into the holiday weekend.

Athens-Clarke County, along with the surrounding area, will experience consistent temperatures above 95 degrees during the day for the rest of the week. Temperatures will hit 100 degrees going into the weekend. The heat index will consistently be above 103 degrees for the next 7 days.

At night, temperatures will lower to around 75 degrees, but people should still be mindful of high humidity.

The National Weather Service advises that Georgians stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and limit their time outdoors.
