Applications are open for multiple positions in the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government, including a position on the Hearings Board and five positions on the Human Relations Commission. Several other positions are available on the ACCGov website.
Incumbents are eligible for reappointment and may reapply.
The application deadline is Friday, August 7th. The Mayor and Commission hope to schedule applicant interviews on Monday, August 24th.
Applicants for any board, authority, or commission position must be Athens-Clarke County residents.
The Mayor and Commission is tentatively scheduled to make appointments during their regular session meeting on Tuesday, September 1st.
Open positions include:
- One position on the Athens-Clarke County Industrial Development Authority for a two-year term.
- One position on the Board of Tax Assessors for a six-year term.
- One position on the Clarke County Division of Family and Children Services Board for a partial term expiring June 30, 2031.
- Two positions on the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Region 2 Advisory Council for partial terms expiring June 30, 2029.
- One position on the Hearings Board for a partial term expiring June 30, 2027.
- Five positions on the Human Relations Commission with two positions for partial terms expiring April 30, 2028 and three positions for partial terms expiring April 30, 2030.
- Two positions on the Joint Development Authority of Athens-Clarke County Unified Government and Winterville for partial terms expiring April 30, 2030.
- One position on the Public Safety Civilian Oversight Board for a partial term expiring May 31, 2029.
- One position on the Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Authority for a partial term expiring June 30, 2031.
- Three positions on the Solid Waste Advisory Commission for three-year terms.
