Athens-Clarke County Animal Services is expanding its schedule beginning Monday, August 31, adding Monday hours for adoptions, reclaims and field services.
The Animal Shelter will be open Mondays from noon to 3 p.m. for adoptions and reclaims only. Owner surrenders and stray intakes will remain unavailable on Mondays. The shelter will operate Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m.
Field Services will provide full service Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Emergency services will remain available outside those hours and on weekends through 911. Emergencies include animal bites, aggressive dogs, sick or injured animals and wildlife, and domestic pet welfare checks.
