John Cochran and Brian "Spike" Buckowski started Terrapin Beer here in Athens almost 25 years ago. Now, the company plans to stop production at the Athens brewery before the end of the month. To mark the occasion, WUGA’s Havivah Saltz sat down with John for a look back at how Terrapin began, and how the company transformed the culture of craft beer in the Southeast.
Terrapin’s Athens taproom will remain open, and the brewery location will be used for shipping and storage. John, Spike, and others from the Terrapin team invite the public to join them for a final farewell to the brewery’s Athens production at Terrapin on Friday, September 25th, from 3 to 9 p.m.
