The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating Thursday’s shooting in the 200 block of Weir Circle. According to a department release, officers arrived on the scene to find a 19-year old woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police say she had serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital. A 17-year old male also arrived at an area hospital with a gunshot wound, which police say he received as a result of this incident. Police consider him a suspect in the shooting and charges are pending.
