African Perspectives for October 31, 2021

This final episode in October is a music show focused on African Reggae. It opens with reminders about the still ongoing pandemic, the Black History Month in England, and the monthlong celebration of the 24th Anniversary of the show in November. The episode focuses on the growth in Africa of the music genre created in Jamaica and made popular globally by artistes such as Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. This episode also features selections of African reggae from two collections from Hemisphere and Shanachie music labels. The episode rounds up with best wishes to the seven students and scholars with two faculty advisors representing University of Georgia and Kenya at the 24th Southeast Model African Union (SEMAU) conference at Georgia College and State University, Milledgeville, Georgia from November 3 to 6, 2021. As always, the episode

featured selected enjoyable music from Africa and/or by Africans with specific selections from two African reggae collections, Reggae Africa and Fly African Eagle.
