COVID Report for Tuesday

The Delta Variant of COVID-19 continues to surge across Georgia and the country.

Yesterday Clarke County reported 164 new COVID-19 cases, a sharp increase from the 5 new cases on July 16th, one month ago. In neighboring Oconee County, 50 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, while nearby counties Jackson and Barrow saw 174 and 144 new cases respectively.

All of these case totals were reported on Monday alone.

As for hospitals in the region, 94.3% of ICU beds and 87.7% of inpatient beds are in use. Statewide 88.2% of ICU beds are currently being used while the total for inpatient beds is 83.7%. There were also 33 COVID-19 deaths in the State of Georgia yesterday.
