District Attorney Deborah Gonzalez beginning her third week on the job as the DA for the Western Judicial Circuit. this week. Gonzalez is already putting a host of changes in operation. They include new guidelines for charges, prosecution and sentencing, eliminating cash bail, and increasing transparency via a new data dashboard.
We spoke with her recently about those decisions.
In addition to information, she says such evidence can also determine the allocation of resources.
Gonzalez also voices her opposition to the death penalty.
