ESPLOST measure poised to pass

A five-year, 120 million dollar sales tax for Clarke County schools appears to be on track to pass after Tuesday's election. Unofficial and incomplete results from Athens-Clarke County elections officials show that around 80% of voters approved the measure, which would continue a one percent sales tax to fund, among things, a new Clarke Middle School. The ACC Elections office says that complete and official results should be in later this week.
