Four Clarke County schools are going virtual on Thursday

Four Clarke County schools will be going all virtual later this week. Citing staffing shortages, the Clarke County School District’s Acting Superintendent, Brannon Gaskins, announced today that Alps Road Elementary, Clarke Middle School, Clarke Central High School, and Cedar Shoals High School will go back to virtual learning beginning on Thursday and lasting at least through Friday.

In a statement, Gaskins said that the decision to go virtual was not made lightly, and warned that other schools may have to go virtual in the future.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the district was reporting over 800 COVID-19 cases among students and staff in the last 14 days.
