Kemp Allows Local Mask Mandates

Governor Brian Kemp signed an executive order on Saturday that will allow Georgia cities and counties to pass local mask mandates.

The order also extends restrictions that have been in place for most of the summer, including a shelter-in-place order for the “medically fragile,” bans on large gatherings and safety requirements for businesses. Kemp also dropped his lawsuit that sought to block Atlanta’s mask mandate, citing a stalemate in settlement negotiations.
