Rise in COVID-19 Cases Moves CCSD Back to Virtual Learning

Thrive Global

Yesterday the Clarke County School District announced they would be moving to online-only instruction starting next week.

ACC schools will have online-only learning the last week of classes before winter break, that’s December 14th through 18th.

Clarke County schools will also stay online the first two weeks of after winter break, until Tuesday January 19th.

The district cited staffing issues as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic as explanation for the shift away from in-person classes. According to the district, there has been a gradual increase in cases and exposures to the virus since Thanksgiving Break.

Yesterday's statement came from Interim Superintendent Dr. Xernona Thomas who added that another statement from the district would come out no later than January 8th.
