The Clarke County School District will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. tonight on the budget and millage rate.
The Clarke County Board of Education gave tentative approval to the fiscal year 2022 budget of around $170 million on May 13, based on the continuance of the tentative millage rate of 20 mills.
While the millage rate is remaining the same, rising property values means that revenue from property taxes will increase by about 6%. Members of the public are encouraged to weigh in on the budget at tonight’s hearing and the meeting will be held using video conferencing via Zoom.
