A close, contentious California primary race was finally decided early Wednesday morning. State Treasurer Phil Angelides won the Democratic nomination for governor, narrowly beating out Controller Steve Westly. Angelides will run against Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in the fall.

Canadian Terrorism Suspects Appear in Court
Most of the 17 suspects arrested over the weekend for allegedly plotting terrorist acts in Canada appeared in an Ontario court Tuesday. But bail hearings were delayed when defense lawyers asked for more time to prepare. According to charges made public in court, at least one of the suspects plotted to storm Canada's parliament and behead officials.
Biden backs Sweden and Finland's NATO membership application
Biden said Thursday he was sending paperwork to Congress to ratify Finland and Sweden's application to join NATO. The ratification process is expected to pass with bipartisan support.
Little Leaguers Talk About Bonds and Steroids
San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds recently eclipsed Babe Ruth's home run record, but his achievement is overshadowed by allegations Bonds has taken performance-enhancing drugs. Mark Moran of member station KJZZ visited a Little League team in Phoenix to see what coaches and kids think about Bonds and the steroid allegations.
