  • Kamilah Kashanie (she/her) is the host of the StoryCorps Podcast. Kashanie's love for radio is rooted in her desire to understand more about what makes us who we are. As a storyteller, she's committed to starting conversations to make lasting changes in underserved communities, and to craft narratives that help give voice to individuals who would not otherwise have a platform to tell their stories. She's also a graduate of the Transom Audio Storytelling Workshop and the host of Feeling My Flo, a reported podcast about menstruation from PRX and Lantigua-Williams & Co.
  • An Athens area native growing up steeped in the local music and food scenes, Colin joined WUGA in early 2022. He was hired as Operations Assistant and quickly took on duties as an On-Air Host as well. He now covers the early afternoon and All Things Considered weekdays as our local voice. Currently living in Athens with his four cats, he enjoys gaming, politics, hiking, art, live music, fine food and riding his One-wheel board.
  • Alexzundra Tillman is a part-time reporter and producer. She is currently pursuing her masters degree in Film and Television studies at UGA and hopes to work at the cross section of these two fields in the future.
  • Monty Greene is a UGA alumnus. After a 30 year career in visual merchandising that included 12 years in Dubai, Monty moved back to Athens during the COVID-19 pandemic. Monty hosts a monthly experimental music show at the Athens Institute for Contemporary Art (ATHICA) and is an active electronic music producer and performer.
  • Havivah Saltz has been with WUGA since 2023 as an on-air host and the producer for African Perspectives. She got her start in radio on WOBC FM at Oberlin College (class of ‘23), and she’s also an on-air host on Athens' Power 100.1 and Magic 102.1. Outside of work, you can find Havivah making art, writing fiction, practicing Japanese, petting her very round cat, and watching concerning amounts of TV.
  • Mary Ryan Howarth is a recent graduate from the University of Georgia. She started as an intern at WUGA and quickly became a part-time reporter and producer. She also contributes to Athens News Matters and the Georgia Health Report. Some of Mary Ryan's interests include reading, arts and crafts, and running her podcast with her mom, HowARTh Gallery Gossip.
  • Akinloyè Òjó, PhD is a professor in the Department of Comparative Literature and Intercultural Studies at the University of Georgia (UGA). He is also the current Director in the UGA African Studies Institute (ASI). Dr. Òjó is a published author and poet. He is the creator and host of WUGA's weekly radio show 'African Perspectives', which has been on the air since 1997.
