May 21st is the last day to vote in this spring’s General Primary. Over the past several weeks we’ve heard from many candidates up and down the ballot, from coroner to district commissioner. Kirrena Gallagher is a childcare professional running for a seat on the Board of Education in District 2. She spoke with WUGA’s Martin Matheny about her platform.

‘He reaches out to dead people’: Athens writer publishes biography of legendary author Norman Maclean

A River Runs Through It is considered a literary classic, but how much do you know about its author? Norman Maclean was a legendary professor of English at the University of Chicago. He was also the mentor of Rebecca McCarthy, an Athens-based writer who recently published Maclean’s biography. WUGA’s Emma Auer sat down to speak with McCarthy about her book, Norman Maclean: A Life of Letters and Rivers.

He started at WUGA in 2012 as a part-time classical music host and still hosts WUGA's longest-running local program 'Night Music' which is heard on WUGA and GPB Classical. He lives in Normaltown with his wife, Shaye and dog, Murphy.
