Georgia Election Board approves controversial election certification measure
Election results in some Georgia counties may be delayed or blocked under a new measure passed by the State Election Board this week. WUGA’s Emma Auer has more details.
UGA invests over $7 million to strengthen campus security
As UGA students begin the fall semester, they will see a series of new initiatives to further strengthen campus security – from lighting upgrades and emergency call stations to uniformed Campus Safety Ambassadors who will augment the efforts of UGA Police by serving as student escorts and providing extra “eyes and ears” at night across campus.
It's all part of the University of Georgia’s $7.3 million investment in new security initiatives this year – on top of more than $16 million in campus security measures enacted over the past eight years.

6th annual Great Southeast Pollinator Census calls on citizen scientists
Summer may be winding to a close, but pollinators across the Southeast are still buzzing from plant to plant.
To learn more about these insects and their behavior, the University of Georgia Extension will facilitate the 6th annual Great Southeast Pollinator Census on August 23rd to 24th, and they’re inviting citizen scientists to participate.
WUGA’s Martin Matheny spoke to Becky Griffin, the project’s coordinator and the Pollinator Health Associate at the UGA Extension, about the initiative.
Town & Gown Players takes on Pride and Prejudice this month
It is a truth universally acknowledged that radio listeners in possession of a free evening make excellent theatre-goers.
Romance and Regency-era manners will abound on the stage of Town and Gown Players this month as they produce an adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.
