The Eastside of Athens has long awaited a public library of its own. After Tuesday’s Mayor and Commission meeting, it looks like that library is one step closer to breaking ground. District 8 Commissioner Carol Myers represents part of the eastside. WUGA’s Alexia Ridley sat down with her earlier this week to discuss the latest on the library and more.
Chigozie Obioma previews new novel for upcoming reading in Athens
Chigozie Obioma is a two-time finalist for the Booker Prize, and his new work of fiction is entitled The Road to the Country. He recently joined the faculty of the University of Georgia as the Helen S. Lanier Distinguished Professor of English and Creative Writing.
