February is Black History Month, a time to commemorate key moments and people in the history of Black people in the US.

Celebrations will occur across the county this month. On February 8th at 9 pm, Athfactor-Liberty Entertainment will present Hip-Hop Canvas: Beats, Art and Fashion, highlighting Black musicians, artists, and poets.

Montu Miller, Farin, and Stella Groove are three Athens musicians who will perform at the event. They sat down with WUGA’s Emma Auer to discuss Black History, as well as their musical styles.

Alexia Ridley joined WUGA as Television and Radio News Anchor and Reporter in 2013. When WUGA TV concluded operations, she became the primary Reporter for WUGA Radio. Alexia came to Athens from Macon where she served as the News Director and show host for WGXA TV. She's a career journalist and Savannah native hailing from the University of Michigan.
