Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church, passed away on Monday from complications related to a stroke. He is considered by many to be a progressive Pope who brought the Church into the 21st Century.
Dr. Jason Roberts is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Religion at the University of Georgia. He specializes in Catholic theology, and sat down with WUGA’s Emma Auer to discuss the legacy of Pope Francis. Here’s that conversation.
Athens Meals on Wheels seeks to serve those still waiting for connection
Meals on Wheels is well known for delivering food to home bound Americans. In the local area, the service is run by the Athens Community Council on Aging. The organization is joining a nationwide program called End the Wait, hoping to get every household off the Meals on Wheels wait list and onto the routes of meal deliverers.

UGA offers one thousandth need-based scholarship to bridge funding gaps
The University of Georgia recently passed a major milestone – the creation of the university’s one-thousandth need-based scholarship for UGA students.
